Felicia and Will’s Hudson Valley wedding was more like a party. And City Winery Hudson Valley was a pretty neat spot to host it. I appreciate when couples opt for a wedding at a location that isn’t prototypically a wedding ‘venue’. City Winery Hudson Valley has a few locations throughout the country with each hosting daily goers looking for a drink, entertainment or a relaxing environment.
While the vineyard views and surrounding landscape are beautiful, what really makes City Winery stand out is the contrast between the elegant, patio-vibes outdoor setting and the venue’s industrial interior. Inside, exposed brick, steel accents, warm lighting, and mill windows give the space a vintage feel while still feeling welcoming and relaxed. It’s a venue that photographs beautifully. I especially loved how you could get a different perspective during any outdoor gathering by documenting from above, showcasing the building behind the guests.
The basement lounge space has a different vibe from the rest of the venue. The moody lighting, cozy seating, and speakeasy-like atmosphere make it a fun spot for guests to gather throughout the evening and a great location for unique after party wedding photos.
For Felicia and Will’s summer wedding, guests were able to enjoy the best of everything the venue has to offer. Cocktail hour flowed between the outdoor spaces before everyone gathered inside for dinner and dancing. As the night went on, the energy only grew as their DJ threw a rager.
Whether I am in the role of Connecticut wedding photographer or an upstate NY wedding photographer, I appreciate venues that offer variety without requiring couples to travel between locations. City Winery weddings provide vineyard scenery, industrial architecture, and intimate indoor spaces all in one place.
