Jonathan Edwards Wedding: Morganne + Antonio | Britt Hill Photo

Morganne and Antonio chose to have a Jonathan Edwards Winery wedding in Stonington, Connecticut for their October celebration. It felt simple in the best way — focused on what actually mattered to them and not overcomplicated. They burned palo santo at their ceremony entrance, they cried during vows and speeches and spoke honestly and vulnerably about their deep love and respect for one another.

Their ceremony took place in the middle walkway at the top of where the vineyard crested, just as the sun started to set behind them. They wrote their own vows and it felt personal and real with so much sniffling and wiping of tears in the crowd. It was heartfelt and honest.

Afterward, guests had time to hang out in the winery, grab drinks and ease into the evening as the night fell and the stars made their appearance. Morganne + Antonio greeted and chatted with guests without feeling rushed or pressured onto the next thing. They genuinely enjoyed themselves and their people.

At the reception, they skipped a traditional first dance and asked for all of their guests to join them onto the dance floor to kick off a badass dance set that set the mood for the rest of the evening.

Pro tip for the socially anxious – if you are uncomfortable being the center of attention for a first dance, opt out! Have yourselves a private dance together, away from the crowd at your own time and then ask the DJ to have everyone join you as you enter your party for a fun and high energy dance session before settling into toasts and dinner.

The rest of the night followed that fun, high energy tone. No strict structure, no pressure — just time spent with their people, moving between the dance floor and conversations.

Overall, their day felt true to them: intentional, relaxed and centered on connection rather than tradition. Jonathan Edwards Winery ended up being a really cool, unique Connecticut wedding venue.

I hope you enjoy xoxo
